the al jazeera english guessing game

if people are somewhat familiar with the news world the reaction -- whatever it is -- usually falls out strong whenever i answer the question about my current job.

i work at al jazeera english. i hear curiosity speaking out of most who inquire about my work place, i hear skepticism and a remaining suspicion what the channel is up to.

a former intern at the wasington dc bureau of al jazeera english produced a video of about five minutes giving you an inside peek into the newsroom. a lot of the people you see in the video are colleagues of mine.

what i like best about the video is its emphasis on the diversity of people who work there. similar to the diversity abounding in washington dc, i feel in the briar patch with my job in this exact place.

watch and enjoy. and just as the finishing theme of the movie is debate i encourage you to comment on my blog. debate is needed to create better media in a system that is hard to crack. how handy to have a channel that still stirs up people's minds!

Stine,

I'm glad to know that both you and br'er rabbit are in the briar patch you love. Sorry the video didn't play for me but I don't need to see it to know that you're with a a first class news agency and getting excellent experience.
I'm pleased that you found some value in the article about the Wash. Post.
Congratulations on the conference competition invitation. Good luck.
