juergen's/jürgen's

where the german heart beats faster: what could be an ordinary bakery in any german town is a jewel found within the northern section of german village. suddenly you feel beamed into a rural german town with crabby but romantically crooked alleys and houses tight on tight with fences to protect the tiny bit of precious property. and to satisfy your hunger for hasenpfötchen, mischbrot, and a hearty meal you stop in jürgen's bäckerei. although schmidt's sausage house is easier to be found and offers a big bustling restaurant jürgen's hidden and more intimate restaurant might be the better experience for germanness in the u.s. besides ordering lunch from a unique menu you can spend your time reading das goldene blatt, freizeit revue, and bunte. and after filling your stomach you can purchase more german supplies such as semmelknoedel, pudding and all sorts of maggi helpers.

Stine, you're right, this bakery is really "German." And also really hard to find... but worth it. I'm recommending it to all of my German friends in Athens.
